Deed in Lieu – Give Back Your Home
With this program, you choose to give your property back to your lender instead of your lender foreclosing on you. It is essentially a transfer of property to the lender in consideration for forgiveness of the debt.
It is important you realize a full case file must be submitted to your lender to see if you qualify for this program - it is not simply mailing back your keys. Your lender has the final say on whether they approve you for their specific Deed-in-Lieu program.
